Organic Wellness Unveils Farmer-Linked Retail Model for National Expansion; Opens Experiential Store in Gurugram

By Harry Ward

Organic Wellness Products Private Ltd. inaugurated a company-owned “experiential” retail outlet in Gurugram on Feb. 15, describing it as a demonstration hub for a decentralized expansion plan. The store is intended to show prospective entrepreneurs how the format works before they open similar outlets in their own cities and territories.

The company said it plans to scale the model to 5,000 retail outlets across India. It projects the network would support 5,000 owner-operators and nearly 15,000 direct retail jobs, with additional work tied to farming, processing, packaging, and logistics. Organic Wellness said the approach targets unemployed youth and women with a low-investment entry into wellness retail while strengthening links with farmers.

At the opening, the store was inaugurated by the elderly mother of a Bundelkhand farmer, with farmers who supply organic produce to the company present. Organic Wellness said the ceremony reflected its goal of integrating farmers into value chains beyond raw material supply by connecting cultivation to retail-led income.

The outlet features more than 250 food, health, and wellness products, including formulations made from organically sourced produce supplied by farmers in Babai village in Bundelkhand, Madhya Pradesh, and processed at the company’s unit there. The company said several products are exported to multiple international markets as part of its “seed-to-shelf” approach.

Why it matters

  • The company is pitching a retail expansion model built around self-employment and small-format stores, using the Gurugram outlet as a training and reference point.
  • Organic Wellness says its plan is designed to strengthen farmer linkages by tying rural sourcing to retail operations and income generation.
  • The proposed scale—5,000 outlets and nearly 15,000 direct retail jobs—signals a major employment push if the company’s projections are met.

What to do next

  • Prospective partners can use the Gurugram outlet to learn store operations and assess whether the low-investment model fits their territory.
  • Farmers and local suppliers can track how the company’s farmer-linked retail strategy develops as it expands beyond the initial outlet.
